Ventilation
Ventilation is the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide that takes place in the lungs. Oxygen from inhaled air is carried in the blood to all parts of the body. The blood then picks up carbon dioxide from body cells and carries it back to the lung for disposal through exhalation.
