- Heliobacter pylori
- Helicobacter pylori is an organism that grows in the intestines, and can be passed from person to person. In some people it will have no effect, while others will develop an ulcer or gastritis. It seems that other factors must also be present for the damage to take place. Simple blood, breath, and stool tests can determine if you are infected with H. pylori.
- Hemorrhagic
- Hemorrhagic means bleeding. A hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures or bleeds.
- Hypertension
- Hypertension is the same as high blood pressure. It is defined as a systolic blood pressure consistently over 140 and a diastolic blood pressure consistently over 90. Systolic is the top number of your blood pressure measurement, which represents the pressure generated when your heart beats. Diastolic is the bottom number, the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart is at rest. Either or both of these numbers may be too high.
