FEV1
FEV1 refers to forced expiratory volume in one second. It is a common test used to assess lung function. You breathe into a machine called a spirometer, which calculates the volume of air and the rates at which air can be inhaled and exhaled.

Familial hypercholesterolemia
Familial hypercholesterolemia is when your cholesterol problem is mostly caused by genetics. It’s best treated with cholesterol-lowering medications.
